Weathering the storm
An exhibition of recent works on paper by Canberra based artist, Julie Bradley opened Sunday, June 27 at Helen Stephens Gallery, Collector.
Genevieve Jacobs officially opened the exhibition at 2pm in the large garden.

Bradley says: “This body of work explores the idea that we are all, from time to time, weathering a storm of some kind - either with or without grace.
“Abstracted forms imply cloud shapes and elements of the weather –wind, rain and storms and embody ideas of resilience and resistance.
“The “skyscape” is abstracted and reduced to compositions of directional lines and contrasting organic and geometric shapes applied to gouache wash backgrounds. The simplified images echo basic structures in the land and sky. The use of the compositional elements of the arc or semicircle, direct the eye and help to build the forms of cumulonimbus clouds.“
