What did artist, Stephen Harrison know when he decided to transfer his interest in the thylacine to paper with a series of intriguing ink and wash drawings on watercolour paper?
Almost immediately, despite the exhibition, The blue thylacine, opening entirely on line, the sales started.
There has been a groundswell of interest in the Tasmanian Tiger (Thylacine). Stephen Harrison’s exhibition which opened on May 3 has triggered a lot of interest among thylacine enthusiasts.
It was extraordinary to see a report on the ABC news recently of newly discovered footage of the last known thylacine in captivity at Hobart’s Beaumaris Zoo, filmed in the 1930s. The film was unearthed by tiger enthusiasts digging through the National Film and Sound Archives.
