Artist, Jo Hollier, is getting pretty excited about her upcoming exhibition which opens in the gallery and on line, July 5. All the work, 20 plus prints and drawings, are now framed and she is happy with the results.

Jo Hollier, White throated tree creeper, etching. D.28x26 Natural timber frame.

Jo says: “It is always a thrill to see your hard work framed and hanging on a gallery wall. So often it remains out of sight. Even more so with the covid 19 restrictions when most exhibition opportunities ceased.

“Being invited by Helen to exhibit at this time was both welcome and unexpected. The detailed etchings and drawings are perfectly suited to the intimate gallery space in such a unique setting.”

Well, the unique setting allows us to have a physical exhibition and an opening event – we can monitor the number of people in the gallery at any one time and there is the large garden where social distancing is easily done.

The setting has inspired a group of en plein air painters who will be setting up their easels in the garden and beyond on the morning of the exhibition opening. We may have an extended exhibition if they are willing to show what they have achieved in a couple of hours. Let’s hope it is a fine day. My weather predictor says it will be partly cloudy. Temp. 1 – 11. So rug up. A glass of red wine will help to warm the blood.

With the exhibition timed to open at 2pm, many people choose to have lunch at Some Café up the road in Collector. Don’t forget to visit Collector Wines Cellar Door next to the Café.

Collector welcomes you!
